DIY Advent Calendar for Toddlers

diy advent calendar for toddlers

Today I have a mini DIY project for you. It’s a DIY Advent Calendar for toddlers. Like I mentioned in my previous articles, Christmas is my favourite Holiday and it has always been close to my heart. So I’d love to send this excitement to my 15-month-old. I want everything to be special and enjoyable for him and because he’s too little to have a chocolate advent calendar, I decided to create my own version of the Advent Calendar.

There’s no chocolate involved, plus it’s super easy to do and you don’t need a lot of things to make it happen.

Are you in a hurry or you don’t have enough time to read? SAVE it for later!

You will need…

Let’s see what you are going to need for this project:

  • something to put everything intoI found this cute mittens advent calendar at a local supermarket. But you can easily do your own version. I didn’t like it as much because there isn’t so much space to put the toys into. If you are in need of inspiration, you can find tons of ideas on Pinterest. This article from The Bump has 19 DIY Advent Calendar ideas. I wish I have seen this before.

  • toys – sadly I was quite restricted here. I had to choose smaller ones and that wouldn’t be dangerous for his age. The last thing I want for him is to choke onto something. My goal was to buy super inexpensive toys for this project. So almost everything was around the £1-£3 mark (with some exceptions)

  • fruits & healthy snacks – I wanted to include some treats. So he’ll get either a fruit or a snack in some days which I’ll add to the advent calendar the day before. I want them to be as fresh as possible.

  • stickers – he’s too young for stickers, but I thought it would be a lovely activity for us. I am going to give him a piece of paper some crayons and then the stickers. I want to make a cute piece of art to have it as a memory. I’m all about memories 😀

Put everything together

Now, all you have to do is play around with the toys and choose what to put where. I had so much fun doing this Advent Calendar. I did it while my son was napping. It took me almost an hour because I was photographing and filming everything. But I am sure it won’t take you more than 20 minutes to put everything together.

Like I said earlier in this post, I am going to add these fruits the day before so they are fresh. I can’t wait to see his reaction to this.

There are no rules! Have fun and do whatever you have in mind!

Until next time take care & stay beautiful!

xoxo Kinga
